Fruit of the Spirit

Sometimes we can get so caught up with religion that we lose God in all of our desires. We need to stop and look at our perfect example. Jesus Christ not only came to pay the penalty for our sins, He came to show us how not to sin. Remember all the miracles that were performed during His ministry. Were they from Jesus or from God???
They were from God. Remember some of the miracles were performed by the Apostles. Also remember Jesus Christ was and is God, but he became man. Yes He was just an ordinary man or was He, what made Him special???
Let me ask you a question. Was Jesus able to sin? You say yes. Well then could Jesus have sinned? No! Jesus was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the earth. He had to be perfect in every way. If He was God then Satan would have said “You see only you can keep God’s laws man cannot”. So He came as an ordinary man with all of the defects that we all have and was tempted in every way that we are tempted. In fact if you think about it even more than we are tempted. You see if Satan cause’s us to fall he has won one soul, but if he cause’s Jesus to sin he wins all souls.
So how does He do it? How does Jesus Christ our Saviour live a perfect life? By continual communication with the Father in Heaven. Thru His relationship with God the Father He was able to have God’s spirit dwelling within Him fully. That means God is the one who performed the miracles not Jesus not the Apostles. It was God the Father who performed the miracles then and today. For us to have victory over sin we must have God dwelling fully in us thru Jesus Christ. That means Jesus Christ our Saviour our Redeemer is also our Mediator. So we are to ask Jesus Christ into our hearts fully every second of our life. He must have full access to every detail of our lives. Then we will see the fruits of the spirit manifested in all that we do, say and think. In essence our fruit is Jesus Christ reflection in our lives. When this occurs we will have life everlasting with Him.
The Apostle Peter says it well in 2Peter 1:3-11:
2Pe 1:3  Because by his power he has given us everything necessary for life and righteousness, through the knowledge of him who has been our guide by his glory and virtue;
2Pe 1:4  And through this he has given us the hope of great rewards highly to be valued; so that by them we might have our part in God’s being, and be made free from the destruction which is in the world through the desires of the flesh.
2Pe 1:5  So, for this very cause, take every care; joining virtue to faith, and knowledge to virtue,
2Pe 1:6  And self-control to knowledge, and a quiet mind to self-control, and fear of God to a quiet mind,
2Pe 1:7  And love of the brothers to fear of God, and to love of the brothers, love itself.
2Pe 1:8  For if you have these things in good measure, they will make you fertile and full of fruit in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Pe 1:9  For the man who has not these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having no memory of how he was made clean from his old sins.
2Pe 1:10  For this reason, my brothers, take all the more care to make your selection and approval certain; for if you do these things you will never have a fall:
2Pe 1:11  For so the way will be open to you into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Blessings

Tony
