We are to glance at ourselves, at all of our needs and desires. But we are to gaze at Jesus Christ at all that He has done for us and all that He is doing for us.
For it is Christ who makes all things possible. No matter what the situation Christ will be victorious when we allow Him to control our every deed, our every thought. He makes the very best lemon aid. He truly understands everything that we experience in our life.
We are to get all of our strength from beholding Him in our lives. As the Apostle Paul say in Hebrews 12:2-3 ;
Heb 12:2  Having our eyes fixed on Jesus, the guide and end of our faith, who went through the pains of the cross, not caring for the shame, because of the joy which was before him, and who has now taken his place at the right hand of God’s seat of power.
Heb 12:3  Give thought to him who has undergone so much of the hate of sinners against himself, so that you may not be tired and feeble of purpose.
Yes we are to draw close to Him at all times to obtain that living water.
